The School Day

At Sturminster Marshall First School, clear routines help ensure a calm, safe and positive start and end to each day.

Morning Arrivals

The main school gates are opened by school staff at 8:30am.

Classroom doors are opened by class teachers at 8:40am.

All children are expected to be in their classrooms by 8:45am, when the school day officially begins. At this time, classroom doors will close, registers will be taken and the main school gates will be locked.

If you arrive after 8:45am, please report to the school office to sign your child in.

Daily Timetable

Morning registration:
8:45am – 8:50am

Morning break:
10:30am – 10:45am

Lunch:
12:00pm – 1:00pm

Afternoon registration:
1:00pm – 1:05pm

End of the School Day

The main school gates will be unlocked by staff at 3:05pm.
Classroom doors will be opened by teaching staff and children dismissed at 3:15pm.

Total Weekly Hours

The school day runs from 8:45am to 3:15pm.
This provides a total of 32.5 hours of school time per week.

At the end of the day, parents should collect their children personally from the Class Teacher.
