Admissions & Feeder Placements
Transfer to Other Schools
Children transfer to Middle School in the September following their ninth birthday. Whilst there is an element of parental choice, our catchment link is with Lockyers Middle School. At thirteen years of age, children transfer to Corfe Hills Upper School. The Headteachers and other staff members of the schools within this pyramid meet regularly for planning meetings.
Admissions Arrangements
Parents of prospective pupils are welcome to visit the school prior to their child's admission. Attendance at Sturminster Marshall Pre-School, sited in the school grounds, is encouraged, as we liaise closely to ensure that transition into school is made as easily as possible for the children.
Since September 1991, parents have had the right to request a place in the school of their choice, regardless of whether the preferred school would normally serve the area in which they live. Governors have agreed to follow the New Admissions Policy set down by Dorset Council. Parents have a right of appeal if refused a place at the School.
Since September 1997, there has been a single entry date in September for all children aged 4+ who are starting school for the first time.
Requests for admission for children living outside the catchment area of the school should be addressed to:
